photo to the right shows a slurry pump casing being enhanced with a hard, chrome oxide
ceramic coating. Tungsten carbide is also commonly applied to pumps in
abrasive services. Pump casings are often subject to erosion, corrosion, or wear. In addition, they can be damaged from debris and contact with rotating parts. In all of these instances, thermal spray coatings are used successfully to provide cost-effective, long-lasting solutions.
